Testimonies from the Staff Ira and Tierra (A marriage made in Heaven)

We will like to share a short testimony about our union. Like most marriages everyone puts their best foot forward by either showering one another with gifts, grooming, cooking, and anything we feel that would draw one another in for the long haul. We did not realize until now that the most important gift we could give to each other was the gift of repentance and being serious about our own salvation.

We met in Florida. Tierra was at a time in her life where she loved God and sought obedience but was still blinded by her own sins. She socially drank either at home and or in club like settings. Although she read the bible and prayed, unknowingly, was chained with past sins. Ira, at this time, would occasionally hangout but had quit drinking. His focus was working, eating healthy and his own growth. Upon our first date, Tierra felt the comfort to drink releasing all nervous jitters and Ira joined for Tierra's comfort. We did not know that would be the beginning of our disastrous path. As time passed, the drinking increased and we became drunkards at times. Fornication began followed by mental and physical abuse. The devil had his way with us as we continued to drown ourselves deeper into sin. We stopped going to church, he stopped eating healthy and we became the poison in each other lives.
^___^
Due to a chain of events we moved to Georgia as a solution to starting over and even sought a church home. However, the problems continued because we under estimated the real issue at hand, ALCOHOL addiction. As we began to sober our minds, we began to witness God speaking to us about our fornication lives, addictions, profanity, anger, and bitterness that which was keeping us from growth. We were later invited to Metro Atlanta Christian Center and surrounded by inspiring households. We began to break the chain of fornication by getting married and next dealt with the addictions and temperaments. Although things are not perfect (and never will be), we now have learned to surpass the sins through repentance and our own salvation. We have learned to release the holds from the past, love one another as God commanded and in doing this he is giving us the desires of our hearts. CLEANSE YOURSELVES BEFORE YOU BEGAN A UNION OR RISK CURSING YOUR SPOUSE AND OR CHILDREN. {Philippians 4:13}
